LIVE and FREE MUSIC – THIS SUNDAY and EVERY SUNDAY!
This weekend sees the launch of our ‘LIVE and FREE’ music programme. Every Sunday we will present live music between 2pm and 5pm with no cover charge. So whether you are looking for ‘THE HAIR OF THE DOG’, a light refreshment or a lovely Sunday lunch you can now do it to the sound of some of Glasgow’s best live musical talent.
THE POD
If you have passed by THE FERRY recently you may have noticed the impressive stainless steel cube that had ‘landed; on our forecourt Christened ‘THE POD’ by our staff it will soon open providing an Al Fresco hospitality area on the quayside. Work is currently under way to provide power and services to the unit and within a few weeks it will be launched as a new catering facility. Watch this space for further news!
EVENTS
The high summer period of July & August is normally quiet on the concert front but this year there are one or two ‘stand out’ events to note for your diary. In July we have two fantastic tribute nights – Friday 17th with SAMPLE MINDS and Friday 24th brings the first ever visit of THE TOXIC TWINS with their tribute to American arena rockers AEROSMITH. On the 25th July we play host to STREETRAVE with their WEST COAST JAM 2009. August headliners include Jazz saxophonist COURTNEY PINE who will headline a Jazz weekend on August 1st (watch out for details of this mini festival on July 31st, August 1st and 2nd coming soon!). DEAN FREIDMAN pays us a visit on August 7th and THE HEPTONES come all the way from Jamaica on August 9th.
