Following the success of their 2012 “Foxtrot” tour Britain’s top Genesis tribute band, REGENESIS, return to The Ferry with a brand new production celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the release of the hugely successful “Selling England By The Pound” which got to number 3 in the UK album charts.
The production for the show will as always be first class and will be the bands biggest tour to date:
In 1973, Genesis released one of the crowning glories of the British prog-rock movement. Selling England by the Pound remains a dazzling and beguiling collection of fables and fairy tales, combining pastoral folk with a hard-rocking edge and topping it all off with a very English brand of whimsy. The album gave Genesis their first Top 40 hit single, the magnificently-titled I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe), providing Pan’s People with surely the only opportunity of their careers to perform a Top of the Pops dance routine to a song about lawnmowers.
Forty years on, ReGenesis – the world’s finest Genesis tribute band – are celebrating the album’s anniversary by performing Selling England by the Pound in its entirety, using it as the centrepiece of a rich and varied set that encapsulates the spirit of the band’s early, Peter Gabriel-fronted years. Since forming in 1994, ReGenesis have won acclaim for their authentic, dramatic and colourful live shows, even earning a place in Mojo Magazine’s ‘Top Ten Tribute Bands’ feature.
"ReGenesis are not only as good as the genuine 1970s article, I suspect that they may very well often be better, especially on the most intricate aspects of the original band's catalogue. If you're a fan of the Peter Gabriel-era Genesis from the first time around, or a more recent convert to their classic work, there's no better way to see it brought to life in the 21st century”
