The Bob Dylan Band
Don't Think Twice

Rock Burger & Sides Night

Thursday 1st March

We come together to celebrate the musical legacy of the icon that is Mr Bob Dylan. Since the 1960's, we have been spoilt by the prodigious output of this legend and the quality of his song-writing has garnered multiple awards, culminating in the ultimate recognition of the Nobel prize in Literature in 2016, "For having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition". No matter what decade you choose, there is a favourite album or a bunch of songs that means something of significance to many followers and what the Bob Dylan Band aim to achieve is a sense of these songs throughout his long history.

Drawing from solo acoustic renditions of songs such as "Blowing in the Wind", "The Times They Are a Changing" and "A Hard Rain a-Gonna' Fall" and arrangements of full band songs, such as "Tangled Up in Blue" and "Like a Rolling Stone"; the Bob Dylan Band also include versions of songs performed with the Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton and Bruce Springsteen. The "Last Waltz" marked a chapter in Dylan's distinguished career and two songs from the Band, ("The Nights They Drove Old Dixie Down" and "The Weight") are included in the set list. The show is completed with songs from the more recent albums such as Oh Mercy, Modern Times, and Together Through Life, along with a selection of Dylan's great work with The Travelling Wilburys.

If you’re a wee bit peckish you can enjoy a quality 6oz burger (90% beef OR Vegi), bun, onion rings, slaw and fries ALL FOR ONLY AN EXTRA £6!

The Motown Brothers

The Motown Brothers

Friday 9th March

The Motown Brothers are one of a few funky but, sophisticated groups, with an African twist, currently performing in the UK. Just 3 guys with a distinct attitude and an average of 25 years performing experience amongst them - they exude class!

Each with their own individuality and creativity they have developed THE MOTOWN SHOW which delivers “just what it says on the can”, reviving all the instantly recognisable hits churned out in the 60’s and 70’s by Berry Gordy Jnr’s mammoth stable of stars. A guaranteed evening of favourites for all ages with superb close harmonies and individual solo numbers.

Unlike most other Motown groups, as well as the experience, these fellas still have youth on their side, providing slick and modern choreography, which many say is a cut above the rest.

With this group you have the whole package, the looks, the moves and most importantly the voices.

Don’t come expecting to sit down….the music just won’t let you!

Stipe

R.E.M. by Stipe

Rock Burger & Sides Night

Thursday 15th March

STIPE – The definitive tribute to the music of MICHAEL STIPE and REM

Stipe  have been around since 1996 and was originally called 'Driver8' then 'Stipe'. Formed by Richard Southern, the original line-up gigged mainly in the North of England and Scotland.Over the next few years Richard also fronted Midlands based "Monster" playing many gigs throughout the U.K and Europe . Honing and perfecting Michael Stipe's very individual stage persona.

In 2002, Richard decided it was time for a new version of the band called 'Stipe'.

This line-up debuted on January 1st 2003, and over the next few years built up an enviable reputation as an authentic and entertaining tribute, playing all over the UK with regular visits to Ireland and also Europe including Malta, Italy and Sicily. During this time the band's web site became the most popular on search engines Google and MSN, and the vast majority of venues - from small clubs to huge festivals - have made regular return bookings.

In 2014 the lineup was refreshed bringing back some of the original members, along with new talent, to produce the strongest and most authentic sounding REM Tribute.

"Awesome " - Michael Stipe

St Patrick's Eve

St Patrick's Eve
"Hands Across The Sea" Celebration Ceilidh

Friday 16th March

Introducing MIDDI MURPHY and THE WILD MURPHY’S!

Put quite simply, this trio of fun loving reprobates play great Irish songs with punch and pace. Middi is the quintessential frontman, a fantastic singer with a razor sharp wit, playing guitar, accordion and mouth organ (not all at the same time!) With John on live guitar and Ryan on live bass their unique sound is backed up with studio recorded drums (Ben Tutt: Valvetones, V8’s) Fiddle (Sophy Ball: BBC folk award winner) and Piano (Tony Davis: Prelude) giving them the sound of a 6 piece band.

They're not a folk band, they're not a ceilidh band, they're not even a rock band, they are an out and out Irish music group, playing some of the greatest Irish classics in their own inimitable style, no-one is doing this selection of songs in this lively a style anywhere in the UK today!

THE GARY BLAIR CEILIDH BAND

The Gary Blair Ceilidh Band are a highly experienced, lively, Ceilidh band and always our band of choice at The Ferry. Their recognition as a top class band is truly world class, a fact borne out with their 20th consecutive appearance, hosting The Ferry’s, world famous, Hogmanay Ceilidh in 2017.

They are regularly sought out to perform at top events including 4 performances at T in the Park, 3 times at the Scottish BAFTA's, British BAFTA awards, Cannes Film Festival, The Chieftains Ball, Dubai & Kuwait, Gold Coast Hotel & Plaza Hotel, Las Vegas, George Square Hogmanay party, Stirling Castle Hogmanay (with the Proclaimers) and many other prestigious events.

Gary says their aim is for everyone who attends a band performance doesn't just have a good time, they have a great time and as one of the most experienced Ceilidh Bands around they expertly judge exactly what to play and when to play it and are happy to explain the dances for those who are new to Ceilidh dances.
