Roxy Musique

Roxy Musique

Friday 12th October

Roxy Musique are a tribute to Roxy Music, the "second most influential band of all time".

Sadly now (if you listen to Radio 2) Roxy Music are mainly remembered for their timeless hits from the early '80s like More Than This, Avalon, Oh Yeah and Jealous Guy...but in the '70s Roxy were truly cutting edge and paved the way for punk (Sex Pistols), gothic rock (Siouxsie and the Banshees), disco (Chic), new romantics (Duran Duran) and alternative rock (U2).

Roxy Musique put on a two set show, with set one exploring Roxy Music's daring and creative repertoire from 72-75 and set two targeting the later hit singles and giving the audience the chance to "dance away the heartache". Roxy Music have performed the odd Bryan Ferry solo hit live (A Hard Rain's a Gonna Fall, The "In" Crowd and Let's Stick Together) and Roxy Musique follow suit depending on the audience.

Bootleg Blondie

Bootleg Blondie

Saturday 13th October

BOOTLEG BLONDIE is the official Debbie Harry & Blondie tribute band and the only Blondie tribute to play the legendary CBGB’s in New York City before its demise in 2006. CBGB’s was the Holy Grail of American Punk and New Wave, where the real Blondie first kicked off their career.

Debbie Harris and Bootleg Blondie have played the Isle Of Wight Festival, the 100 Club, the Hammersmith Palais, The Electric Ballroom in London, Eric’s in Liverpool, and have opened up for amongst others - The Undertones, Slade, Bad Manners, The Beat, Heaven 17, Toyah, Hazel O’Connor, Tony Hadley and can be seen at all the major venues and festivals around the UK and Europe.

Debbie Harris and the boys have met the REAL Blondie and are officially endorsed by the band. Debbie Harry got in touch in 2006 when she heard we were playing CBGB’s in New York City to wish us good luck with our show and when Clem Burke, Blondie's charismatic drummer, found out that we were making a replica of his Premier drum kit, he arranged for us to meet him to sign our bass drum skin. ‘During the 2010 Blondie tour of the UK we took Clem out for a trip around London in our tour bus, he signed that too!!!!’

In 2014 Clem invited Debbie and Andy to a recording session at the Foo Fighters’ famous 606 Studio in Los Angeles, where they saw Clem and the awesome Neve mixing desk in action!

Debbie and Andy got married in March 2016 and to their great delight received two video clips from both Blondie and Debbie Harry herself congratulating them on their wedding day. What a wedding present!

And probably the best Xmas present in the world ever was in 2016 when Clem Burke came along to a Bootleg Blondie gig and actually got up and played drums on stage with the band! He said afterwards that watching and playing with Bootleg Blondie was very emotional. Well Bootleg Blondie was very touched by Clem’s presence!!!

In May 2017 Bootleg Blondie had the unbelievable honor of being mentioned on Blondie’s 11th studio album ‘Pollinator’.

Debbie Harris, lead vocalist of Bootleg Blondie, has the looks, the voice and the attitude of the original Blondie bombshell and like her heroine is typically outrageous on stage. She has been known to wear dustbin liners, thigh length boots and t-shirt with more holes than t-shirt! Debbie's pride & joy is her guitar which she plays at every show and is signed by all the Blondie   members.

Debbie Harris is the niece of the celebrated singer and actress Shani Wallis who played Nancy in Lionel Bart’s musical film 'Oliver'!

‘Good luck with your show!’ DEBBIE HARRY

'Playing with Bootleg Blondie was very emotional' CLEM BURKE

‘Thank you for your support’ CHRIS STEIN

'Hey Debbie and Andy congratulations, rock the house!' DEBBIE HARRY AND BLONDIE

Lightnin Willie and The Poorboys

Lightnin’ Willie and The Poorboys

Rock Burger & Sides Night

Tuesday 23rd October

For over 20 years now, Lightnin’ Willie and The Poorboys have toured the US and UK spreading the message of The Blues.
They apply a distinctive approach to their music based on the fact that Willie, himself, has a distinctive approach to his music. He is a song writer; singer and guitarist in that order and following that mantra the band provide an irresistible blend of tradition and spontaneous creativity, with a deliciously insidious emphasis on the groove. Expect a compelling, hard swinging brand of blues that, whenever they perform, packs the dance floor.
Over the years Willie has gone from the low down beer joints to become a staple on the international circuit at home in the USA and abroad, with some wild stops along the way, from London's Royal Albert Hall Igniter Series to Willie Nelson's infamous 4th of July Picnic, where he appeared alongside Paula Nelson, Willie, Bob Dylan, Leon Russell.

Touring the United States and Europe has given Willie the relaxed, confident and sometimes humorous quality of a seasoned performer. These attributes have won him stacks of enthusiastic praise from the press while landing his original tunes on numerous film and television soundtracks. Lightnin' Willie has the unique knack of bringing his audience into his 'living room' and making everyone comfortable while forgetting their problems for a couple of hours.  At a recent show with legendary blues man Robert Cray they played to a packed house receiving a well-deserved standing ovation.

2018 finds Willie and The Poorboys on tour both in the U.S.A and with an Autumn tour of Europe, supporting his latest album, No Black No White Just Blues, which was produced by Grammy award winning producer/guitarist Pete Anderson,

What the people that know say…………………

No Black No White Just Blues features ten clever and powerful self-penned compositions that explore the haunting expressions of human feelings that inhabit the blues alongside a fair share of wit. He writes songs in a concisely crisp manner. He sings with rich, full-bodied character, while playing guitar with sizable skill " - VIVASCENE

" The great grooves, understated guitar, vocals, and lyrics fit perfectly in the genre without seeming old and tired make for one of the best listens of 2017 "- VINTAGE GUITAR MAGAZINE/DECEMBER 2017.

“In a world of guitar slingers, Los Angeles-based bluesman is a rare find. His guitar, a 1950 Gibson ES-5N has a rich, deep tone and Willie's tasteful style create a sound that's light years away from the howling Fender Stratocasters that populate so many modern blues recordings. His understated dexterity on guitar and cool, relaxed vocals form a unique style that's simultaneously laid back and steeped in tradition." - ELMORE MAGAZINE 2017.

"One of the best contemporary Blues songwriters & performers today" - PETE ANDERSON/GRAMMY MULTI AWARD WINNING PRODUCER.

"He isn't a simple minded dance band leader. He developed his deceptively simple, boundless appealing style over a lifetime of propinquitous musical experience..." - JONNY WHITESIDE.

"What he doesn't know about putting on a good show isn't worth knowing..."- MICHAEL MEES/BLUES IN BRITAIN.

The Motown Brothers

The Motown Brothers

Friday 26th October

The Motown Brothers are one of a few funky but, sophisticated groups, with an African twist, currently performing in the UK. Just 3 guys with a distinct attitude and an average of 25 years performing experience amongst them - they exude class!

Each with their own individuality and creativity they have developed THE MOTOWN SHOW which delivers “just what it says on the can”, reviving all the instantly recognisable hits churned out in the 60’s and 70’s by Berry Gordy Jnr’s mammoth stable of stars. A guaranteed evening of favourites for all ages with superb close harmonies and individual solo numbers.

Unlike most other Motown groups, as well as the experience, these fellas still have youth on their side, providing slick and modern choreography, which many say is a cut above the rest.
