La Villa Strangiato

La Villa Strangiato
The Spirit of RUSH

Rock Burger & Sides Night

Thursday 1st November

LA VILLA STRANGIATO is an Italian project by Gabriele Ferrari and Carlo Fattorini, two professional musicians that have much international experience. The original purpose of La Villa Strangiato was to revive Rush’s music of the ’70s and early ’80s – the period of their maximum popularity. The band formed in 2010 and, thanks to the contribution of several friends and musicians, they finally presented their first show (entirely dedicated to the album “Exit Stage Left”) in Rome in March 2011.

Since then La Villa Strangiato have gone from strength to strength performing their Rush tribute in top, live music, venues and festivals all over Europe, culminating in 2014 with their first performance at “Rush Eucon” – the officially endorsed European convention of devoted Rush fans. Through 2014/15 La Villa Strangiato hit the road with a specially dedicated production entitled “Rush 40”, a concert designed in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the original band, taking in venues throughout the UK and Europe. On 2016 still on tour with the “Signals under pressure” the band was also selected for play on The Rushfest Scotland with the original Rush producer Terry Brown. But the band’s greatest popularity is in the year 2017 with the show dedicated to the famous 2112 album. The success of this tour will grant to the band their second participation in the 2017 edition of “Rush Eucon” once again in the company of producer Terry Brown. For 2018 the band presents the new show “Stranger Spheres”, an event inspired by the 40th anniversary of the release of the album “Hemispheres”, which will bring to the audience several surprises, dedicated to all the Rush fan.

Bryan McAdams Band

The Bryan McAdams Band

Saturday 3rd November

The Bryan McAdams Band shows are modelled on the live concert performances of Bryan Adams and his band. Taking inspiration from Bryan's 'Live in Lisbon' performance and including all of his most loved hits, the show runs at a minimum of 2 hours with a complete mix of rock, ballads, acoustic and solo performances. Most songs are based on the live performances and are typically longer than the album or single recordings and catch the live 'rock' feel.

One thing is guaranteed, every McAdams Band gig has audiences dancing from the first song to the last encore, with plenty of opportunity to join Michael (Bryan) in singing along to the instantly recognisable anthems and chorus's. Be prepared –a regular show feature involves an audience member joining us on stage to perform the Mel C part of 'Baby when you're Gone'.

There are only few Bryan Adam's tribute acts out there, some claim to be Europe's best, or the UK's best. We'll leave that up to our Ferry audience to decide – we think we have it right with this one!

No matter what decade you choose, there is a favourite album or a bunch of songs that means something of significance to many followers and what the Bob Dylan Band aim to achieve is a sense of these songs throughout his long history.

Drawing from solo acoustic renditions of songs such as "Blowing in the Wind", "The Times They Are a Changing" and "A Hard Rain a-Gonna' Fall" and arrangements of full band songs, such as "Tangled Up in Blue" and "Like a Rolling Stone"; the Bob Dylan Band also include versions of songs performed with the Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton and Bruce Springsteen. The "Last Waltz" marked a chapter in Dylan's distinguished career and two songs from the Band, ("The Nights They Drove Old Dixie Down" and "The Weight") are included in the set list. The show is completed with songs from the more recent albums such as Oh Mercy, Modern Times, and Together Through Life, along with a selection of Dylan's great work with The Travelling Wilburys.

Focus

Focus

Sunday 18th November

With their unique brand of progressive rock, Focus manifested themselves at the start of the '70s as the most successful and appreciated of all the Dutch pop-rock exports. Fronted by founding member Thijs Van Leer, and best known for their hits “Hocus Pocus”, “House of The King” and “Sylvia”, as well as critically acclaimed albums 'Moving Waves', 'Focus 3' and 'Hamburger Concerto', the iconic Dutch music masters are back with their tenth album, which is guaranteed to please their legions of fans!

After a comeback in the early 2000's, which resulted in the well-received albums 'Focus 8' and 'Focus 9', the band regrouped with a fantastic new line-up. Along with Thijs van Leer on vocals, flute and keyboards, back on the drums is famed Focus drummer Pierre van der Linden, who joined the group on their second album 'Moving Waves' in 1972. Internationally renowned for his rhythmic skills, Pierre remains a defining factor in the Focus sound. Guitarist Menno Gootjes, who participated in Focus at an earlier stage, and acclaimed bass player Udo Pannekeet, complete the band's current line-up. Recently, Focus's biggest hit "Hocus Pocus" was used in a 4-minute Nike commercial before the World Cup broadcast. Focus music can be regularly heard on Top Gear and Saxondale on TV in the UK.

A new Focus era has arrived! There is a rejuvenated passion amongst the band as it enters the studio to record Focus 11 and prepares to go out on the road again for a World Tour, in support of the new album, and as it builds up to its 50th Anniversary.

Slade UK

Slade UK

Friday 23rd November

One day a large tattoo'd northern man called Nidge surveyed his domain, something was missing. Something loud, bawdy and full of fun. Something that would warm even the coldest blood. "This world needs Noddy to get back on stage with Slade" thought our hero. At this moment, Andy, an equally large guitarist reminded our hero he was supposed to be singing AC/DC songs as it was the middle of a gig. Soon after, Andy pointed out that not only did he share the same initials as said vocal legend he actually sang like the bloke.

All these hits and many more are performed in a fantastic fun filled 2 hour show: -

The Banging Man - Gudbuy T Jane - In For A Penny - Coz I Luv You - Everyday - Far Far Away - Them Kinda Monkeys - My Oh My - Good Time Gals - Run Run Away - Rock N Roll Preacher - Thanks For The Memory - Wheels Aint Coming Down - How Does It Feel - Let The Good Times Roll - My Friend Stan - Me N The Boys - Dizzy Mama - Look Wot You Dun - Lets Call It Quits - Get Down And Get With It - Lock Up Yer Daughters - Take Me Bak 'Ome - Cum On Feel The Noize - Mama Weer All Crazee Now - Merry Xmas Everybody - Born To Be Wild - When I'm Dancin' - Wall Of Sound

Oysterband

Oysterband 40th Celebration

Rock Burger & Sides Night

Thursday 29th November

Oysterband 40th Celebration Special. Classic songs from every era of a long and mighty career.

Oysterband, the multi-award-winning outfit that brought passion, power and not a little poetry to folk and roots music, enter their 40th year as vital and creative as ever, with some of the finest songs in the modern folk canon to their name: Put Out The Lights; When I’m Up (I Can’t Get Down); Blood Wedding; Everywhere I Go; The Oxford Girl; Granite Years; Native Son…..these and many others from their vast back catalogue will be featured as they undertake a year of touring and festivals from summer 2017 into 2018 to celebrate four decades of a unique and fiercely independent career.

Oysterband still play with that spirit of the punk ceilidh band that roared through people’s lives all those years ago. But the growing depth and sensitivity of their songwriting, coupled with the strength of John Jones’ voice and their remarkable musicianship, have lifted their music into a richer, more acoustic era.

Their occasional collaboration with folk diva June Tabor has produced two cult-classic award-winning albums, Freedom & Rain and Ragged Kingdom. The latter and their hugely influential album Holy Bandits were voted nos. 4 and 5 among the Ten Best Albums of the last 30 years by the public in a poll by fRoots Magazine in 2016.

Oysterband are:

John Jones - voice, melodeon
Alan Prosser - guitars, voice
Ian Telfer - violin, voice
Al Scott - bass, mandolin, voice
Adrian Oxaal - cello, voice

and the newest member, formerly of Bellowhead,
